I plan to replace the minimum amount of metal I can get away with. If I can do that from cuts of an original panel all the better.
Making all those flutes from scratch isn’t going to be easy or fun.

I made a small jig to press the flutes into some flat sheet steel .. I'll see if I can find the pictures ..

Trouble is (as you have found out) it's a common rot spot.

Pretty sure I still have the jig pieces here if you want to borrow them ?

I may well take you up on that offer.

Do you have any pictures showing the detail of the inner sills under the load bed.
I appear to have three sections joined there and I’m not sure what’s factory or a historical repair.

I'll have a look and see if I have any photos .. I did half floors on the cab using MiniMachine floors.

Interior needs a clean. Any suggestions on how to rejuvenate the panels?

The dash liners look like they've had it.

Are they smooth or do they have a textured finish ?

Millboard is available from Woolies, and would be a reasonable replacement, though I've only ever seen it in glossy black.

The door liners might flatten out over time if pressed flat.

In both cases, I guess they'll need to be painted.

I had some "vinylcoat" mixed up in a biscuit colour to freshen up my door liners. It worked well.

The seats look good, although the Pirelli webbing might be sagging a bit.

Dash liners are ok just a little mouldy from storage, the clock hasn’t helped the form on the right hand one.
They’re smooth painted type

Pm me your email address and I’ll send over a poor picture of under the load bed.

You should find it’s a regular height inner sill, with a fluted strengthener behind it that is spot welded to the inner sill, and the load bed.

Personally I'd remove all the door and dash cards, wipe them over with plenty of hot soapy water and put it somewhere to press flat. It is very rare to find original door cards and liners and the patina is all part of it (you can always make up a replacement dash card from a door card - which do surface occasionally). I've seen some attempts at vinyl covering which always looks wrong and at painting which might be possible with enough matting agent.
Very good news that the seats are in such good condition.

I ended up buying Newton door and dash cards and then getting some paint mixed in a rattle can to paint them.

Seats look superb 8-)

The seats have come up better with a quick dousing in TFR and a jet wash.

I think this may need some careful cleaning with some a nail brush and thinners, although I may just leave it as patina.

The bases are showing signs of perishing I’m not sure they’ll support my bulk for too long. There a little welding on the bottom that corresponds with two holes in the floor

Too many projects vying for my attention.

I’ve only just got round to opening my delivery Blyton from Andrew. Thank you Andrew.

Now a dilemma of how to either permanently weld in replacement fins or keep a bit of its history and make a removable panel, although it’ll be getting electronic ignition it’ll assist with filter changes.

Can I suggest that while it's apart like this Hippo, that you get looooooong large dia pipe connected to your hoover and put it right into that bulkhead cross member. There's never been any paint in there so can I suggest after the hoover, an equally long probe connected to a can of Supertrol-001 and flood the inside with this greasy oil that sticks like shi......., er......., mud to a blanket!

Paint before any oil based products.
Unsure if I should replace the seam sealer that’s flaked off.

Only just seen this post .. you're welcome, glad to have helped and another very small piece rescued from the parts department :D

From todays pics I guess you've gone for the removable panel option ?

Personally I would weld the grille back in, then check out one of those VW guys that do patina paint to blend it back in!
