From the last picture it looks to me like the dynamotor - or whatever it is - is too far forward, or to the left (or right in the pic). The dynomotor fan looks a bit canted too. Maybe someone local can have a looksee. But you can't correct that with spacers

Re: Over heating mk2 Cooper
Looks like you're generator (dynamo) pulley is spaced wrong. All the generators I have here, have less than 3mm distance between the Generator fan blades and the generator body. Yours look to be a lot more, therefore, the pulley is also out of alignment, and causing the belt issue.
It's getting a little off the overheating topic, but worthy of correcting while we're here
The good news is, your fan blade appears to be installed correctly

Thanks to everyone’s help, I have ordered a NOS temperature sensor and a new voltage stabiliser. I will report back once Received and replaced (at the weekend I guess)
I will also look into the pulley and get realigned

Over heating is now fixed. I think it was the stabiliser as it didn’t look great, but I have fitted both a NOS temp sensor and new stabiliser.
Next will be the pulley alignment.
Thanks to all for your help.

And when you've done that, drain down and refill with waterless coolant. End of overheating and pressurised cooling system forever.

Agreed. Draining, flushing and filling with Evans waterless coolant changed my life. The car never overheats and even if it did get hot, it won’t boil. You can run a low pressure cap.Peter Laidler wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 4:51 pm And when you've done that, drain down and refill with waterless coolant.
