Using the nails seems like a good idea. I wonder why that didn't work. But success at last. It makes you wonder how those forumers without a comprehensive took kit or mechanical knowledge manage.

While very off topic I have noticed all the vises in my shop were made in England. I don't imagine that's the case any longer. Steve

Back on track CooperTune. That is a good idea (your post, page 1) re using a knackered UJ as a slave to build and set up hubs. I have one with a steel plate welded across the open base to hold it in the vice (Record, c,1957 and UK made of course!!!). Use it to pull bearings down and set up the spacer accurately too. I have an adaptor so the same UJ can do Cooper hubs too
