Front it until her quotes go down.

Forget all the hand wringing nonsense from lib-dems. It is totally and utterly ridiculous.

My first 8 cars were Morris Minors. I passed in 97. My insurance was £400 TPFT and the car was £400. My mate's Escort Van 1.6 was £1600.

Personally, I would like to see how these premiums are calculated as they type in a number and my old Peugeot 106D with 180k miles, value of £500 was £550 for me to insure, whilst my 1430 full race mini with roll cage was £135. Why?

The bottom line is that you want the person in the car to not get in trouble for not having valid insurance. You also want anyone they hit to be covered. That is morally acceptable.

Put the car in your name and add your child to the insurance. If you use someone like Direct Line, they can gain NCB as an additional driver. This makes sense.

You choose whether you get raped or not. To say "But it makes everyone else's premiums go up" is total nonsense.

Anyway, front it.
