I had to admit to myself that I do not have the time nor the expertise to restore this shell so I took another direction and now have this one in my garage I have mounted the new rear lights and that is looking nice I am now trying to figure out how to assemble the headlights and I'm not sure where the spring for the adjustment needs to be mounted. Does one end connect to the tab in the back of the bowl? And where should the other end of the spring connect to?

Interested to know what you did with the old shell. It looked easily restorable by the standards of this forum and from the advice given earlier regarding the replacement bulkhead part

The old shell is still sitting here. I don't have the time nor the expertise to do it myself and had some offers for restoring the shell, but the price for this was way to high.

Not sure yet what to do with the shell. I think it would be a shame to sell it as scrap.

Even the base model 3 has a top speed of 225 kph, and a 0-100 in 5.8 seconds, but they are heavy things. You won't be able to squeeze all the batteries in, so you won't have the same sort of range, but it will be considerably lighter...

I will be using a 350V - 35kWh battery pack so that should give enough power and range and the batteries will have a total weight of around 160 KG. The drive unit itself only weighs around 80 KG and capable of delivering up to 220 kW power. This will obviously being tuned down in this car

I'm next door in Stabroek (near the small church - waterstraat -Parijse weg)
doing a MK2 shell @this moment for my sun.....lot of work

I still have an MK1 bj 60 on the shelf, unrestored....

If you need some body panels for you restoration - I still have a '67 shell which could be used as a donor for some parts

I also have both doors, bonnet and boot lid.

A few years back I got all the wayTo THE UK to meet Andrew 1967 , and collected some parts from him
that was not around the corner, I eve traveled as far as North Wales to collect an MK1 interior (and deed some vacation attached to pleazz the misses)
For the 69 ,we have all parts now , and doing welding now
For my early mini , I need a lot of parts.....floors, wings etc.
These parts are getting more expensive, for sure with the brexit
We are on holiday in Spain now , maybe we have to meet to share some "info"

Hi, I'm back from some time of this project.

I'm looking for some advise regarding an issue I encountered while attempting to test fit the rear subframe. I noticed that one of the mounting holes on the heelboard is not the way it should be. It seems that some sort of rivet nut has been put in there and I have a feeling that it is not a good thing? The threads in the rivet nut are damaged so unusable anyway.

I would like to repair this in the correct way and was looking for some suggestions or tips?
The rivet is also loose in that it turns freely around. So hard to drill I believe... I read something about welding a new nut on a big washer and then welding that combo in place? But first I need to get rid of that ugly thing.

Any advise for me here?
