The 5th owner Peter & Richard Tooth. Approx 1977/8. In their ownership the car only completed 386km from its March 1977 MOT to present day. As they started to strip and restore the car in the late 70’s.

If you look back through the photos from the 1000 Lakes in Finland in Aug 1968 you will see this Customs sticker stayed on the windscreen from Finland Aug 1968 right through the cars life. The last photo is the customs sticker today.

Inside the car is a type of motorbike tax disc holder which is bolted to the upper dash rail. Inside the holder many of its tax disc’s were found including its very first disc when taxed by Abingdon.

This is the car as I bought it a few weeks ago. It’s partly restored over the year, with many parts restored and in a million boxes. The bodywork was undertaken in the 80’s when the availability of the correct panels is not as good as it is today. It got new wings, new front panel which needs altering to correct the details, It got a new floor and boot floor. This panel came as main floor, cills, boot floor and rear bulkhead all as one, the bulkhead and cills are not correct and need to replaced. It’s a shame the floors had to be changed but they were trashed after so many rallies. Thinking about it Peter and Richard were very forward thinking to under take this level of metal work for the 80’s. Most people in the 80’s would just have reshell the car, thanks to them 77F is still in its very 1st shell that was delivered to Abingdon in September 1967.
