Hi Ricardo..

Unfortunately, I don't have direct access to the car at the moment, but have asked for the stamped parts.

I've also contacted BMH to see if they can provide more details on when it was shipped as a CKD to SA....

Hi Steve,

Has Ryno confirmed whether the car is on the SA Cooper & S register? I have a copy of it too and am happy to help. The position of the tags (Blackheath body number and chassis number tags) make me think it's a 997. SA never got 998 Coopers. Chassis number will confirm the date of shipment to SA.

If it's an S shell there should be holes in the right hand side inner wing where a brake booster was fitted. Other than that, there's hardly anything that can tell an SA Cooper and early S shell apart (unless you have tags).
