Just purchased a new copper washer. Fiber washer not recommended so I will not be using.
I will report back after the install and bleed.

David, previous page. The thread is 3/8" UNF. As for the copper washers I bought an assorted bag of copper washers from Halfords. Plenty of 3/8" i/d's x 5/8" o/d plus 3/4" OD's too

Success!
New copper washer on the hose seems to be holding.
As you can see I bled the clutch with the slave in this position.
Obviously easy to get to the bleed screw.
I did add a washer to take up the slack on the bleed screw.
Next I will bolt the slave into position and re-test.
Previously depressing the clutch pedal did move the plunger so I do not anticipate any problems.
