..to me..I can see wiring

I have an even better shot somewhere, the wiring does indeed look pretty terrible.

I'm sure I will be able to accurately replicate it. If I can't could you recommend any one

Thanx for the pic Mark, the dash looks great with the wooden steering wheel.

This is my dash... is it Speedwell or another manufacturer?
Very heavy duty with silver plastic trim, and matching 2 pin plug! :D

To those who have seen originals in the "flesh", how does this replica compare?

i would say that its made for too thick plywood, so wont bend to the shape of the car.

it is difficult to 'guess' the thickness of the wood, but it looks like 10mm from the plys
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Thanks guru, that's what I thought too. The only pics I've seen of originals made them seem quite flexible.

I'd love to get my hands on one (or a good replica).

That is WAY to thick it will never fit. The originals were 4mm

I wish ! :( Did have a mate take a look at it but was too tight to pay the full monte. With shipping, taxes etc it was a little too close to the bone.

The yellow / blue 66 S from Victoria BC was purchased by a Brit who is currently living in Calgary Alberta. It sounds like the car will land up making it's way back to the UK at some point. He has posted on the MCR forum about the car so you can take a look there. I looked at the car for him and it is in amazing condition really. I took a ton of photos (including the one of the dash above). No where near as nice as the 69 S I'm working on with 26000 original miles though.

Cheers

That photo was taken by my pal Mark Walker, an ex pat from Vancouver. As the car originally came from Bucks I suspect it went to Speedwell for the sexy bits before it was exported. Just shows nice original cars are still out there !

That's funny Pete as I have pretty much the same photo of the dash and thought it had got out from someone I had sent it to. The car was two minutes from my office and I had even looked at it about 13 years ago in the same garage in the same condition. I still even had the original add from the local paper from way back then. The car was just begging to be restored and the new owner seems pretty keen but this will be his first attemp so hopefully everything turn out well.

Cheers
