There is usually plenty to do for non drivers. Plenty of cars to see & people to chat to. There aren't any major "attractions" though. All is pretty low key & usually very friendly.
I will be announcing the cost of next years event & how to book as soon as I hear from Javelin.

All the artwork & design are 100% down to AndyB who has very kindly done all the Blyton graphics for a few years now.
And I agree, yes, he has done a fantastic job as always.

Always a pleasure to help out, as specially with it being a charity event.
I'll leave the window stickers to you this time though Mark so they work properly

After the grumbles about last years, I stuck one to my office window, looking out. It is still there now.

no it wouldnt, that's one of the events main attractions, its open to all and i think its fair to say everyone is respectful of each other on the track, doesn't matter how slow, quick or broken your car is!

Hi, We are very open in our interpretation. If your username is a giveaway then I'd love to see a Terrapin there. BUT you would have to check that Javelin were happy about open wheelers running with saloon cars. I know that sometimes this can cause problems.
One of my projects is Terrapin no 14. I started restoring it years ago & then hit a few issues that have pushed it onto the back burner. I will get it done one day though.

HI Mark
is your car chassis No14, the ex Dave Gould car, my last Chassis list Note was; sold to Brian Cottrell at one time
"sadly Brian's wife destroyed the car in a heavy accident at Weston super Mare speed trials around 1990"
is that the car you are restoring, there is a photo of the back end of your car I found in the photo's I have of my car hear;
http://jawfish.proboards.com/thread/134/photo-test with the original Ford engine in the back
could you point me in the direction of where to check if the car can run or not,
it will be something to aim for, as the car is in a lot of bits on the work table and will need to be put back together, as the original engine/box is now long gone (unless some one knows where it is at ??) I have to sort out some sort of power unit to go in the back, along with a gearbox
regards mike

Sounds an interesting car Mike and just up the road from me too! I'm entries secretary for Barbon and it would be great to see you out there.
For checking whether you'd be allowed to run at Blyton, contact Javelin:

Hello again,
Whoops! Mine is 17 not 14.
"Terrapin Mk1/17 - Built by Peter Solman, this is the ex Brian Gates, Derek Sharman car, owned for many years by Geoff Leyland."
http://www.terrapinracing.co.uk/gallery.html
I bought it from Leyton Hughes understanding it was good to go apart from a seized engine. I fixed the engine but along the way found many bodges & problems. Main issue is I need to fabricate 2 new front wishbones.
I have pretty much rebodied it too.

HI Mark
which wishbones , top or bottom, as I am on with making a new jig for all the ones on my car, if it is the bottom I could poss sort them out when making spairs for the car, First run in my car was at Blackpool Sprint and your car was there with Geoff Leyland, there are some photos of the cars side by side on the front.
I will have a look and see if it is poss to run the car
HI GraemeC
poss' the last time the car ran up Barbon was 17th may 1986 from the car paperwork/notes I made, if I get it back mobile again it should be on for a run back up Barbon, have to sort out ROPS and Logbook for a car that has not run for XXXX years and the driver is also out of touch on the Reg's
regards mike

Hi Mike,
I'll dig them out this evening, TBH, it's that long since I looked at them I can't remember. The problem was that the rose joints were rusted solid in the ends. I did think about making new inserts, but in view of the rust issues new arms seemed more sensible.

I have just heard from Javelin re Blyton 6 (2019) & I am pleased to be able to confirm the following.
The booking line will open on the 3rd of December, check back here for the link, which will become active on that day.
The price has been provisionally confirmed at £149 which is the same as last year, with the proviso that IF Blyton increase the price to Javelin, this price could go up by £5 or £10 at a later date.
ANY MEMBER WHO HAS ALREADY BOOKED AT £149 WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO ANY PRICE INCREASE.
I will post any further info as I get it.
Thanks, Mark F

I plan to interogate a special guest or two again at AD6, more details coming soon.
Also what track layout do we want this year? Outer circuit or spice it up bit with the inner circuit?
