Are you sure it's a cooper shell? Cant see boot board rivets.

My cooper S log book sayes one previous owner , but dvla don't count any before 78 only from when they went on computer.

the original logbook ive got with the car states 0 previous keepers and ive got a few receipts addressed to the listed keeper dating from
1972.Also the guy i got it of told me his dad had the car from new and was going to get around to restoring it one day

yeah the shell is defiantly a cooper shell the rear boot board brackets have completely rotten off but the ones on the rear bulkhead are in place and can be seen in this pic

it is for me too
my 62 was no where near as bad as this and i had some iffy moments with that so this will be fun, at least the other had some good metal to weld to in places unlike this the more i touch the more it drops to bits

Just take your time and think about how to do it.
Bit like a game of snooker, plan several panels ahead before potting the first red
I found replacing whole panels so much easier than letting in patches etc.

I can also vouch for full panels, I replaced as much as you probably need to but mine didn’t look as bad, I found once the main floor was aligned with subframes and front bulkhead, using full m machine floor and full boot floor then everything else fitted almost perfectly.
As mentioned above planning ahead especially if using a spot welder makes sense because fitting in correct order enables spot welder to be used in far more places. Outer a panels to inner wings being one example.
