Mine have not arrived, but this is not a bad thing as I won't be able to make it. Unfortunately circumstances have conspired against me this year.

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup 29/30 August
Cheers for organising again Pete, a fraught trip for us there as we lost all gears by time of arrival. Cheers to the chap from Wrexham for the loan of tools,I didn't get your name sorry.
As to the 'racing', The Derek Bell trophy was shaping up as an excellent race until the safety car, also safety car in race 1 which was a shame. OK day, bit hard to see cars in the paddock due to the gigantic motorhomes... I was astounded how empty the place was of spectators though, real shame for the organisers there really.
I know it's said every meeting but one car on that F5000 grid lapped in 2 1/2 laps...
I'm afraid that we left before the last race as we wanted to get a good chance of getting home in case box played up, fortunately it didn't...

Pete,
As i've said on the MCR forum, top day, tks for organising on everyone's behalf and looking forward to seeing some action shots from the event.
But what happened to Mr Harber?
Niall.

Thanks to all for coming down, shame about the appalling weather in the morning but it did brighten up at Midday, here's a few pics....
Mike Smith's car in the background looked noticably faster in the latter stages of the race, Barry Long's in front was the lead Mini but came a cropper after(?) the pitstop, fill us in Barry....
One of the two 1000cc cars that had a good scrap with each other all the way through....
Fishy's double wipers, nice time warp car...
Bill's lovely motor.....

Barry got taken out by the little Abarth didnt see him lapping him under blue flags ended both there races on the spot. Barry had quite a bit of damage but didnt see how bad the Abarth was. The Abarth and the Saab were a little too slow at times. The Saab nearly did the same to me in qualifying. But thats saloons for you.

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup 29/30 August
The car is not badly damaged at all,it is just panel damage and it will be back out for silverstone finals.
The weekends racing was going so well and we were on for a third overall and a definate class win when a slower car went off in front of me and left me no where to go.
After the race whizzo came and thanked me for gifting him the fourth place .

Re: Oulton Park Gold Cup 29/30 August
we were gifted 4th o/a but won our class and beat two cat D cars outright. I dont class beating Barry Longs or Roger Godfreys cars as they had problems. We also had problems with gear shift, siezed n/s/f shocker which has smashed the lower pin off, collasped n/s/f bearing which was new for race and two broken studs on hardy spicer on the n/s so we were very lucky to finish ourselves but finish we did
