looks to be quite a bit over my rather poor budget, but that would make a great car

I've been looking for a good long time now, haven't got the time to build anything at the mo, and KEC needs work as it is, and may even take a year out with it, as i'd love time to develop it further.

Other than 35k plus FIA Race Minis, there's nowt, ebay used to be full of Mighty Minis and Rally cars for our budget (shoulda kept the green Mighty Mini)

Any comments chaps ?, i'm i looking in the wrong places ?
Hi Steve,

My clubman could be available, basically been laid up for 18 months so off road and sorn'd. It's got all the right bits but maybe needs a weekend to get right again. Needs fuel pump (supplied) and a rear brake overhaul. The seats and belts have gone to another car but I've probably got some out of date stuff...might be what you're after? If you wanted mint she isn't, but she is strong, comp car most of her life (hill climbs) tax exempt etc ..

Cheers
Bryn

my lad wouldn't go for a Metro, and it would have needed us buying a fresh bigger trailer too, but this is a lot of car for your money if anyone's looking for a comp car !

I think so, surely the engine / box / weber has got to worth more than that !

Looks a purposeful thing Pete , but wayover budget anyway, would cost way over £20k to build today mind

Started this thread 3 weeks ago and to be honest nothing other than what we bought and Brynmor's Clubman really came up for budget

The black metro above fetched 3k (if it was actually sold on flebay), still a lot of car for 3k , I was very tempted if I'd somewhere to put it

Not Mini but I bet it's good cheap racing by comparison.

That does make Mini look like terrible value.

As a bit of a Beemer fan, I have a hankering for a E30 325, track or race cars keep popping up on fleabay for 5k, and a good rally example for not a lot more, good value compared to what you would pay for a Mini, but also excellent value compared with a RWD Escort !
