Thanks Cliff, I'll be there with the Unipower tomorrow night, Geoff Mabbs' son is coming to see it for the first time since he was a youngster. The car's first time back at Prescott since '68 too.

Hope you all have a great day. I'm sure you will. Prescott is a fantastic venue. I've been there fairly regularly since the 1960s and I'd be there like a shot if it was a Sunday. Unfortunately I've got to work tomorrow

Yup it's Chumlying down here and I've not even finished work yet so might be doing a very late load up! Motorways sound rammed so might well leave at silly o'clock in the morning.

Been there today. It's looking good, there will be lots of great cars to see. Spectators in Minis please enter main Orchard car park and look for Mini Cooper Gazebo on left. Lots of you have passes and we have LOTS of space for last minute specsavers.
I'm biased but it is a great venue for spectators.
Look forward to chatting with you.
Should be a great display of Coopers and Mini in the paddock area.
Great photo opportunities all around the circuit and the Paddock.

Most of us weren't aware of a photo shoot of various well-known folk , so as I caught it here are some quickly









Also , out of the blue, I learnt about a twin cam lump that BMC did in 1965







It was due to give a demo run at lunchtime but there wasn't time enough after several red flags

I'm hoping someone can answer something though. In the 2nd practice run, the two tone green and white mini, running Dunlop alloys, Graham Hill?, had a big moment through the esses,but held it. They still red flagged him though. Any reason why?

Great day today. Some fantastic machinery and nice relaxed atmosphere. Many thanks to all involved in organising it.

Unless they had very special flag rules for the day, a red flag means the session is stopped and all competitors return to the pits at low speed with caution.
A black flag with a competitor number next to it means the competitor in question is disqualified and must return to the pits.
Some events use a black flag with orange circle in the centre with a competitor number for a return to pits to rectify a mechanical issue.

Red flags are at every marshall post, black and black and orange flags are usually at the pits only.

The rules are different at hillclimb meetings in that only a red flag is used. It is used to stop following cars approaching the incident at speed and protect the marshals clearing up. I did not see this actual incident but I suspect the excursion left debris on the track which meant that the track had to cleared by the marshals. Later in the afternoon there was an incident at Pardon when a 500 "rode" the barrier and gently tipped over requiring Ambulance & Emergency crew plus 2 sets of marshals At Prescott red lights are used to identify track closure. Following competitors may return back down the closed track or proceed with caution subject to decision of the organising team.

What a brilliant day out with some great cars and great people. Well done and thanks to George and Cliff for organising! Met lots of new faces aswell, great to meet Rhodesy again for the first time in a long time, a very chilled event, great cars and some good laughs. Nice chat with Nicky Porter and David Blaclidge, got a great pic of Adam Forster with Paddy Hopkirk and some others I'll try and post up later. Also met up with some lads who knew Unipower GTs pretty well, including Geoff Mabbs' son Glen who saw his dads car for the first time since 1967. Cracking day and will definately love to go back to Prescott, next time with an entry hopefully!

I had an awesome day out, a MASSIVE thanks to the organisers for allowing us to attend

the actual hill climb is epic, I would have loved a few more goes, it really does favour been really brave!

gutted not to have seen John Rhodes to say hello to, but please to see that he looked as dapper as ever!

it was great to see so many decent people and to be able to spend all day chatting to people in the red hot sun

..and we learnt some new stuff (all new to me!) about Bugattis.

oh and the curry was decent!

Any results chaps ?, so envious !
