Yes the cones will bed down with time and use but are a bit too high at the moment - hence the plan to use HiLos. I got the numberplates on eBay from ceney autoservices ltd. The wood kit was 90% original collected over a number of years as individual pieces (each with a BMC label and separate part number....)...

Thanks for the seller's info, I'll check them out.
What style are the letters?

Thanks I like the look of them. I think the originals on my 64 were white plastic but I quite like the silver.

Yes they are superbly comfortable and because they fold in half and hinge forward they make getting in the back so much easier (if only BMC had done a deal with Microcell...). So, a few more photos: several jobs still to do. I deliberately left the inside in its original paint to give the car some patina - the outside is very bright at the moment but should be better after 2 weeks of the Devon lanes! Still no rev counter - I have a Brian Hore binnacle but not a working rev counter to fit into it. Just been to fill up - amazingly it was a filling station with a pump attendant ( thought I'd fallen through a hole in the space time continuum for a moment!).

Hi . Front seats look great . Can I ask how the seats ended up trimmed in the brocade . I asked newton a few years ago if they would sell some brocade and was told that it's something they don't sell off the roll . .... Ken

Love the BMC travelling rug! I'm after one of them for mine, but I'm not paying that much for a moth eaten old blanket. There must be an enterprising label embroidery company that could remanufacture these

Very nice indeed! Seems you have put in lot of effort, and got a great result. Must be a joy to drive.

Well my two weeks in Devon is over - the car never missed a beat apart from an earthing petrol tank sender giving a permanently "full" reading. The engine was perfect ( thank you Gary). The car got lots of attention wherever it was parked and was regularly driven with the whole family (including three teenagers in the back!). Thanks to Chris Spennewyn who restored it and Martin Huckle who did the paint.
A couple of photos - one in a typical Devon village and a couple on the Dart ferry...
