Here's that 'Whizz-eye' view of the course from last year Andy so you know what you're up against.

For the benefit all those attending I've just been informed we're positioned on the front row of the club stands, trackside, pitch number one. It does say be there at an indecent time for some (Mick) at 8a.m , try your best ! (you'll be in a Q if you come much later anyway !).

And don't forget folks the wrist bands are colour coded, yellow for Sat and red for Sunday (not that they bothered making that plain !). If you want to switch days you'll find you won't be able to get over the footbridge to the infield unless you have the right coloured band.

Re: Pageant Of Power 2010
Well apart from the weather Adam & I had an absolutely brilliant time at the PoP for a second year running.
Loads to do & see, once again my highlight was the massive concert in the evening, sitting under a tree getting steadily more inebriated with Pete, Steve & the Fish.
There were some truly fantastic cars there & it really is an excellent day / weekend out for all the family.
There were only a couple of Minis competeing this year, but Barrie "Whizzo" Williams & our own Andy Harrison (Acespeed) managed to get Andys diminutive 1293 historic racer well into the top 10! OVERALL!
This was quite a thing!
http://www.streetfire.net/video/race-ca ... 648359.htm
Other highlights on the track were an Auto Union silver arrow from the 30's, a 300SL Gulwing Merc, Napier Bentley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVPlzwtPiLs , a huge number of Grand Prix cars from the late Tom Wheatcroft (Donnington) collection. Oh, and Adams highlight was having a ride on a Tank!
Thanks again for organising a great weekend Pete!

Was a good weekend and thanks to Pete for sorting it out and to Paul Fish for helping all weekend and to all who came to say hello. Whizzo was on a mission all weekend and put some quick times in. We had gear selection issues all weekend but that didnt slow the old boy

i think that the brutus car is a modern creation thats been built to 'look like' something from the 1920's i dont thing its ever raced.
the napier bentley on the other hand....
what a car!
in the mid 1970s my dad saw this race (when it was a fairly newly built car) at oulton park - the front axle couldnt cope with weight of the engine and broke free - the car crashed and the front axle bounced about 30 feet into the air and landed in the car park - luckily not injuring anyone!!!
ive seen it race hard a few times and its a beast of a thing

Rich,
You are right, Brutus was built comparitivley recently, it still looked awesome though.
The Napier Bentley was built in 1968

Thanks to everyone for coming down Mark,Paul,Bryn,Dave,Mike,Len,Nick,Bernie,Jon, Steve, the other Steve, Stu, Tom, (where was Tom K ?), Richard, Andy,Dick, probably forgotten somebody.. etcetera etcetera ....great event despite some indecisive weather (rain in the morning both days) and no room on the club stand due to unwelcome squatters.
One of 'Old Spicey......
..one for Mark ...
Highlight of the weekend was Whizz skipping and bouncing through the chicane with the tail out which actually produced a round of a applause from the speccys but he paid the price when a gallon of cold rain water from the roof of th gazeebo emptied itself all over his head ! I'm sure he thought I'd done it !

Re: Pageant Of Power 2010
Sorry for the no show guys, I was truely gutted. Something came in at work and I ended up having to work the weekend, just got back from presenting it in. My Dad used my ticket though so it didn't go to waste. He said I missed out on a good day and thanks Pete for the use of my ticket. Sorry again, next year I may be in the racer

Re: Pageant Of Power 2010
Enjoyed the event, thanks Pete. Think you forgot Ken Jones (TWH 99F). Results make interesting reading, Tesla was quick but very weird with no noise, The White/Light Grey Bentley Continetal GT/Speed / Supersport /whatever was being driven very quickly and nearly had a tank slapper at Lozenge (I think), turns out it was being driven by Ulrich Eichorn, Bentley Head of Engineering. Company car perhaps?
