It certainly is Tom. I have only spoken to him briefly at Race Retro (ages ago!) but he came across as a top bloke, extremely knowledgable and was really keen in helping me. Pretty much sold the idea to me as he wasn't pushing me towards the most expensive route possible but the most usable.

I haven't yet looked into the bracketry or drive. I think I'm going to buy a few bits for my mill and lathe and maybe have a go at making a pair of pulleys to suit. Was unsure or not whether or not to use a typical cam crank pulley and go from there.

There's some TJ bits, possibly manifolds just come up in the for sale section in case you haven't noticed.

Mike certainly knows is stuff and his enthusiasm is endless.

All I have so far is the general idea! I think I would start by seeing if it's possible to leave the cam chain driven and drive the KF with its tii pulley from a custom crank pulley further forward than the std fan belt pulley. But without looking memory says that could hit the rad mount?! I'd perhaps try to get it like the one photographed in the other topic. - I'm about to re post those pics in the general section to see if anyone has any more info.

Let me know how you get on, if you're having anything made I could be interested in doubling up and sharing costs. I will keep you updated should I somehow make a giant leap and catch you up!

That stuff always seems to come up at the wrong time for me Tom!! If I spend a couple of grand a a box of old parts while building my house my Mrs will likely shoot me lol.

I shall likely be making everything myself to be honest Tom. The BMW 2002 pump pulley is actually quite big so I'm considering using a smaller vernier pulley off of something and then making a crank pulley similar to the one pictured below. Unlike the setup in the other thread, I'm aiming to keep pump lower than the front part of the subframe as it will have ally ducting into the radiator.

Ah yes, I know the ducting on your car.
No, I haven't exactly worked out the financial side of things either. Fortunately my big DIY push is just about over!
I saw Mike today actually and started to see the pump working but a couple of small probs, one with our slide throttle and the other with one of his sensors means our rr session is postponed. He is absolutley desperate for someone to put KF on an arden mini and remembers your project is in the pipeline.
I forgot to ask him about injectors but could be interested in buying your tii ones if you were wanting to sell? I'm not going to be racing so think they'll be fine for me. - PM me if so.

2 years later - hope your house has been finished (i know they never really get finished ) - but I am curious if you made any progress on your 970S since.

Likewise, what a find, it would also be great to see some shots of the car.

Have had a very rough year or so due to various reasons and extremely busy summer onwards due to work commitments.
My house still isn’t 100% finished but am very excited about the car as myself and brother are currently fighting to get it done for June as I have a wedding for the car to attend in August.

Good to hear from you again Oldschool, I think we will all be happy to see the back of 2020. Hopefully 2021 will be a bit more like normal.

There is nothing like a deadline to focus the mind. I hope the restoration gets back on track & that things go smoothly from now on.

A little update. I have a 4 week deadline to get this finished now. The car has unfortunately needed to be pretty much bare metaled as the paint applied to it in the 90’s would have seriously effected its new hew of metallic green which I’m glad to say is an absolute perfect match to its original paint back in the 60’s. The car needed zero panel or metal work so everything else has been very sympathetically restored. I will post more pics over the coming weeks if I can figure out how to.
