The cap looks almost identical to the fuel caps on both of my British bikes.

Rich is the man to speak to for caps. Had a few off him now. Very nice rocker cover, out of all the HRG's I have had, none of them have had plates on. Would like one with for the collection. One day

A very nice cover, & yes that cap is correct. It's the larger of the two originally used.

Brilliant news! I thought it looked right. I'm really chuffed - now just have to decide what to do with it...

Old thread resurrection...
Can anyone tell me where I can get a rocker cover cap like the one fitted to the covers in this thread?
Rich, the covers I've seen on your HRG covers don't look like this...or am I mistaken?

Rich's caps are not identical to the original ones.
The original company is still in business, but I don't know if the cap is available, I suspect not.

There's a chance - some of the ones in their catalogue look similar (I haven't got an HRG one handy to measure against):

they are a lovely cover, the big shame with the originals is that when fitted to a mini the badge is at the back of the engine, so it looks a little strange.
I have a 'disturbed' HRG cover missing the cap and the plate.
Do you have any caps in stock Rich?
are the plates remanufactured?

This cap was fitted to an HRG rocker cover that was on a car - slightly different internal design, presumably as it doesn't have an obvious breather hole.

Forgive me for showing off, here is a picture of an original rocker cover with an original cap.I turned my upside down badge the right way up so you can read from the front of the car,I think it looks a lot better. Ceandess still produces the cap although it is slightly larger.

its a correct early one as it has the 'BA' number inside it - the later ones didn't have this
the caps and necks can still be got from C&S, but they have a minimum postage cost, so its expensive to buy just one
it wont be textured under the paint - the paint is wrinkle finish
its got an extra breather in it as well, which is a shame, but you can get them welded up ok

that's a single seal one, so I bet the inside bit is fixed. it will rely on just the cork seal to stop leaks
the 'double seal' ones are spring loaded, and have the breather vent
I do wonder if HRG fitted the single seal ones (which are the ones which have a slightly smaller o/d) as a cost saving measure?

Yep some welding and fettling coming up.
I presume the name plates are not available?

It does have a springy centre
Older ones have vertical knurling whereas modern ones seem to have a diamond pattern.

Some of you may have seen my wanted post. I'm after a cap with vertical grip marks and an off center breather hole.
If anyone has a spare, I'd love to hear from you.

I contacted Ceandess yesterday with a filler cap enquiry.
Their #02222000CAB type cap looks very close.
66.7mm OD x 15mm high.
