So I'm still having sleepless nights over the colour i'm going to paint it, the Gulf Blue has to go
, so the thinking today is to do it monotone, if it hadn't been a 1960 i would have been a bit more bold with the colour, but i think it deserves a 1960 colour, but again as the car will be used for competition, and i'd like it to stand out abit.

So, my bodyshop man came up last night and we went thru the car, first problem, the clown that had fitted the front panel hadn't bolted in to the subframe before welding it up first, and had drilled another hole in the frame once he tried to fit it
so that will have to come off and be redone, couple of small holes found in the floor, but we have decided on some of the messy bits, ill get it sandblasted, hopefully start on it early November, as its one of them "mates rates" jobs, it'll know doubt take longer than hope'd !, Old English white is the chosen colour, nice 1960 Morris colour too, looks nice on a competition car, specially inside and under the bonnet, the same guy painted my 1967 "S" in 1990, and that was a cracking job, so once i get the garage empty I can start on cleaning up the suspension and ancillary's etc, still looking for a nice 1275 engine unit / box

Okay car booked in for sandblasting, I think it's well worth it for what it will cost, going up in two weeks time, is this where it all goes wrong and all the bad repairs of 54 years are found !!, it doesn't look like it's had many repairs but you never know, under all that paint !...., I've been advised to leave the bigger panels, roof, rear quarters etc, but the guy seems to know what he's talking about that's doing it, done a lot of MGs and the like. I'll get him to do the subframes too.
I'll report back soon ,

Consider vinyl. The quality is pretty good these days and if you like it you can get it painted permanently, or if you hate it, you can peel it off.

Even though the reg number that will adorn my 60 isn't the original, the reason for doing it is below, my dad had a 997 Cooper, Cooper S ' ised ! and the reg number was KEC414, in the early 90s I found for sale KEC112', which I bought promptly, it's been on a lot of cars since I got it, but it's going to be a great throw back to get it on an old mini at last
That's me on the bonnet by the way ,
