New lower door frames and lower skins repaired.
I would probably have saved a few quid especially as i had to buy full skins anyway but i wanted to keep as much original metal as possible. And i think some proper repair scars should be worn with pride. Our guys did a lovely job of joggling the joint and he said he was delighted not to have had too much distortion. A skim of filler and some high build primer for protection until paint. The chap usually works on VW stuff he currently has my fathers camper van in primer after lots of welding and ready for refit. He did these for me in 4 days knowing how pricey new doors are I am delighted.

Just been up to drop off the doors. Today was the first time I properly unpacked the sills. These came form M-machine and I am really really impressed. We purchased inner and outer sills with a section of floor all built up with seat belt mounts and jacking points already fitted up including carpet tabs. This will save a good few quid on fitting up and the welder thinks they are superb.
Now to brace the car and cut out the rot. Updates will be slow for a few weeks as there is an mgb in the way needing to be finished first.
Lovely work

Grrrrr so very annoying. All the front lighting has received this treatment
And it gets worse. Why would you rivet on the lamps.

Really? There was new paint on both wings at some time and the drivers side had the usual 4 self tappers.
the wiring was just hand twisted together and then taped up.
I am just annoyed as I had no drill with me today

Progress....
Subframes out and engine/box seperated. Subs in good nik bar the rear where its been dragged/towed....grrr. first attept will be to attempt to get that one square. Keep in mind this is a hydro car.
I will be stripping tbe subframes and refurbing where possible. In 2 minds about paint or powdercoating. An afternoon on the Frost site first i think.
New ball joints and track rods anyway. The worry is the hydrolastic displacers. There are jo leaks but until they come out i wont know what the unions look like. New dust covers already stocked.
