My dad's Tartan red 998 Austin Cooper on holiday in 1966 in I think Cornwall.
He bought it new in 65 and upgraded it with 4.5" S wheels.

That is what the antipodeans would call '.....what a fugly car.....'. They had a few more colourful descriptive expressions too, but being a 20 year old church-going, teetotal and early-to-bed pom I never got to use them.
Any of you antipodeans ever hear BMC referred to as Bloody Mooka Crap?
The 'Best Customised Mini' display for the Mini's 20th Birthday event at Donnington back in 1979.
Like them or loathe them I remember there was always a lot of variety at the the few early Mini shows back then and the Mini 20 was a big and fun event! No one there at the time would have believed the Mini would continue in production for another 21 years....
I was there in 1979, those where the Mini days.
Wish it was like that again, not so huge like the last UK IMM. To much, to large, to many people, not Mini anymore. Every body did his best but the celebration field was to far apart but after 60 years of Mini it is expaneable no hard feelings.
