Reading the questions/answers suggests that the "real car" might be in Japan, so we might see a replica of it shortly! I expect somebody has recorded the reg. numbers so we know what to look out for
Sounds like a bit of a GH job.

More's the point they should have an export marker on them anyway if they were exported officially. if so they'd be worthless.

It is interesting to note that all three were last taxed within a year of the last change of keeper, my guess is that they all went out to Japan.
If anyone has a car that matches any of these then take extra care with your security arrangements.

Are they really worth that much, I have one but don't like the look of it and could be tempted to sell it to fund some stock brocade front seats. I also have a similar styled fixed back seat

I have just checked & replica Restall type 1's are now being sold for £725 each.
So the answer to your question is yes.

Regarding the above speedo, can anyone confirm if red tipped needles were ever used on Works cars or were they only ever white tipped as suggested in the link ??
Cheers

Either he was sick of tyre kickers telling him it wasn't worth the 9,900 he was asking & decided to break it for considerably more or there is something funny going on. I wouldn't like to say which i think it is.

£9,900 probably was too stiff for a modded Mk2 Mini and maybe thought he'd get more for it in bits. Or was it a case of "if I don't get the money, the car gets it!"
Sounded like he picked the wrong car to invest his wonga into if that's the case and wanted it all back when he tried to sell, which in bits I doubt he got?? Pretty mercenary thing to do some might say but then he'd probably have got more money for the bits if he'd have listed 'em better, £32 for a set of Kangol belts was a steal!

So sad, looks like a perfectly good car, if he couldn't get the price he wanted he only had to wait a few months the rate minis are going up in value

Suppose it's just a re- distribution of parts really. Most of the good parts will end up on other cars and the shell could end up being rebuilt as another MK2 ( or MK1 ).

Very nice indeed
I also have a '62 Morris, with the early type recirulary heater and was wondering what 'the rare control cables' are that are mentioned in this ad?
I thought it was just twisting the heater knob for on?
