I agree - but I think we all know how much money you'd probably have to sink into it for a proper restoration

Chassis number WA2S2559042 - first registered on May 27th 1964 in Suffolk this is a VIKING PERFORMANCE engineered example with Crayford Convertible roof. Viking added a Taurus stage 1 head with the Mini Cooper’s Twin 1 ¼ inch SU carbs. Fitted with, what appear to be Avon Safety Wheels we believe this example may have an SPQR close ratio gearbox and modified suspension. The car clearly has an SPQR supplied organ style throttle pedal also noting the car has what appears to be a non original, 1098cc unit. The car has been off the road for many years and is offered as a full restoration project and is a non runner with no keys. The last keeper change is recorded on HPI as being during 1986 almost 38 years ago.

Not again?
All has been said about this that needs to be said…. too controversial to get involved in comment.

TBH not interested in the history, but what purpose does the white plate serve in the engine bay ?

I've seen something similar on a Works car...can't find the image, think I possibly posted it in the Works Bible thread, but can't find it :?

I think the plate was for the Scrutineer to attach an identity tag so that the shell could not be replicated during the event. Like marking the engine block. Must admit the ones I have seen were half the size and had a predrilled hole but were welded to the body.
