was just thinking the same about the location. Thought it was South Coast way but doesn't appear to be now.

I've been looking for the "relatively sound shell" mentioned in the auction description?? The one in the photos with even the horrible oversills rotted away looks shot to me. Still, it IS a proper Cooper "S" and, more or less, a one owner example too.mk1coopers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 8:34 am Another one, looks like a genuine start for a restoration, all be it with some ‘interesting’ previous repairs

That car didn’t sell today. The concours Mk2 998 Cooper made just under £20k. The fast Fords all sold well!Mrgoose wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 4:34 pm https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/1964- ... 661&pp=100 whilst still retaining lots of original features Wonder what they are
Thanks , I asked the owner how it had a Bournemouth number plate when it was delivered to Northampton. Never got a reply.Pete wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:07 pmThat car didn’t sell today. That looks very genuine and saveable. Hopefully the restorer will paint it black again.mk1coopers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 8:34 am Another one, looks like a genuine start for a restoration, all be it with some ‘interesting’ previous repairs

It was Mike Cooper’s car for a couple of years that’s all, not John’s, saw it a couple times at Goodwood about four years ago and a lovely thing but as we know when it comes to JD Classics the bullshit is often spread on it in a very thick layer in a vain attempt to justify the £140k that it’s never going to be worth half of. Same thing happened to the other Almond Green S that Mike Brewer claimed was JC’s personal car when in fact it was just one of thousands of Minis sold by Coopers over the decades.mk1coopers wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:03 pm Not an auction as such, I'm sure we have discussed this one before and the likelihood that JC once had a photo next to it, and may have sold it once, but that's about it.

Ah, that’s right, now I remember, this one was Mike’s that he sold, it was the other Green S that was linked back to John, I’m really glad that I’m not in the market for another Mini, it’s a minefield out therePete wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:35 pmIt was Mike Cooper’s car for a couple of years that’s all, not John’s, saw it a couple times at Goodwood about four years ago and a lovely thing but as we know when it comes to JD Classics the bullshit is often spread on it in a very thick layer in a vain attempt to justify the £140k that it’s never going to be worth half of.
