Indeed Mark you’re quite right of course... but Hepworth & Grandage , Wellworthy, Glacier Metals, etc all stalwart auto part manufacturers in UK were plundered along the way.... if T&N had never bought AE then maybe those good folks would never had got the compensation they deserved. Those were the days eh..
Cheers

A lot of it went to the good folks of Armley in Leeds who used to be able to have snowball fights in summer thanks to the amount of Asbestos dust blown from the T&N factory there!

The Leeds based asbestos plant was featured on a TV show about abandoned historical sites a few months ago.
Just horrible what the people went through.

In all fairness, their experience was by no means unique. The industrial revolution was founded on catastrophes like this, thankfully we have H&S legislation nowadays to stop that sort of thing.

However, I don't doubt for one second that exactly the same sort of thing is happening in China (and other countries) today.

An ex- Spike Milligan mini was for sale at Brooklands Cars recently for nearly £50k.

It didn't sell.

Robert Moss Ltd (In the advert above) were the originators of the "Mosquito" three wheeled Mini based car. Moss himself used to drive one almost daily.
