If I wasn't having to slim the collection I could find that a home!
hell, id slim the collection just to buy it

ive said it before with this car, but i hope the eventual buyer respects the heritage of the thing and looks after it

a bit out of our price range, and probably not that interesting to many on here, but worth a look to see how artcurial list cars that they have for sale.....

https://www.artcurial.com/en/lot-1927-b ... rt-3790-56

scroll down to read the English, the inspection that they have had done on this car makes very interesting reading!!

obviously a complete bitsa, but could you imagine a uk auction house been as thorough on some of the 'high dollar' cooper s's that have been sold recently where its a complete case of 'buyer beware....'

Obviously that car could be worth well into 7 figures so I guess a bit of due diligence by the auction covers them.

There are a couple of other interesting cars

First is a '66 Austin Mini with an estimate of 10to 15000 Euro

https://www.artcurial.com/en/lot-1966-a ... ve-3790-19

The other is a Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R by Radford. The R-R grille is a bit tacky but the Rover P6 rear lamps give the car a more modern look.

Christ, that VDP thing is grim.

A proper Silver Shadow is only 15 grand or so.

A true bitsa!
Having been around vintage cars all my life, I can remember as a kid in the 70’s and early 80’s visiting various old boys with my dad who were making vintage and veteran cars from scratch and even getting a friend in the police to let them have lovely short registration numbers.....

I'm presuming it's been to auction before? What sort of figure did it achieve and what's it likely to achieve do we think?

It's ticking lots of boxes for me, would seem an ideal highdays and holidays mode of travel :)

I recall circa 10K, but don't think it actually sold as it was on ebay the week after for bids and made upto £8k or so?
Could be mistaken here mind.

I like it too mind. (Y)

Its a Cooper S in all but logbook essentially so I suspect it'll go to high teens if not more?!

It was with Historics at Brooklands last September. No price on their site as it did not reach the £10,000 reserve. It has had a few bits done to it when you compare the pictures from then to now, such a different grille, new tyres, added chrome trim and pinstripe etc etc.

Be interesting to know if it’s factory black with a red interior.

Looks very nice.

It does say that it has been "rebuilt to factory specification" but I don't recall seeing any late Mk2 Cooper/Cooper S with interior other than black. I know that black exterior was available as a special order option. Looks a decent car doesn't it and the red interior does lift it a bit.
My own Mk2 S was black/black interior but the paintwork was a later respray as was popular at the time - late 1970s. The car had been beige with a white roof when new.

Does look nice, however I would be cautious of what work the 'experts' minimine carried out though. Seen some of their repairs first hand...

Couple of decent cars sold in the Anglia Classic auction over the weekend, quite a few Minis and Metros, thought this was a decent buy...

Quite a rare car now, an early Clubman. I wonder if it'll stay as one or "become a GT"?

That clubman is now on Car and Classic with a dealer for just below £9k. Be interested in seeing how long they have it for sale at that money.

That Clubman needs a bit of detailing, £6000 was a good price but £9000 is a bit ambitious.

Other highlights include £12000 for a Metro!!!!!

The Mk3S didn't reach reserve,

and £15000 for a low miles RSP

Not surprised - the detailing is dire. Crap reverse rims, shabby steering wheel, no Hydrolastic and the brake pipe fitted by Torvill and Dean.

A bit of work would probably add there or four grand to that at auction - I'd add some dummy hydro pipes.
