Don't be shy now Pete it's not like you ;-)

The Radford HB on the MCR stand will be my old girl. I was delighted to be invited to be a part of the MCR stand this year. Any of you guys going call in and have a chat as I would imagine it would be 3 long days just taking to myself

I'm really hoping to get down to the NEC for one of the days, not a cheap do by any stretch (even on the train) but a full day to say the least (especially with the nattering) and some great stuff to rummage through if you're a history perv like me.

there used to be a bloke in my village who had a few of these in his garden, he was called fanthorpe (which I think is why he had them in the first place)- I never saw any of them actually on the road

they never moved and looked pretty sad, along with a few mk1 escorts and morris minors and what not.

he died a few years ago and the whole lot vanished pretty sharp - I bet they just got weighed in

we (as kids) all thought that they where actually electric cars because of the name....

Now that is an unbelievably tantalising set of photographs - whats the story?

It's a very late '65 car that Gary M went to look at in the early 90s, original car was Island Blue from the factory, what a stunner that must have looked when it was fresh out of Radfords in '66!

Found some more shots of that gold car, and a story , will post tomorrow.

Here's a thing Nev, this is Peter Harrison's car that was converted in about October '65 so early GT dash etc. Look at the modification to the rear bin to allow more movement from the front seat. I've seen slightly later cars with the same interior that don't have that mod, any reason?

It looks like that mod was done for tall drivers and it also made it easier to access for rear seat passengers. So it is hit and miss all through Radfords life.
W&P seamed to have done this mod a lot more than Radfords.

Another interesting thing that I have discovered this week after looking at a few cars and talking with Nev today is that the Lucas 608 mirrors fitted to Radfords were not necessarily the aftermarket Mini jobs with the Mini mounting, they were in fact on a standard Jag mounting with an extra little bracket. So now you know!!

More pics of the gold one, anyone know what happened to it? Apparently it'd been kept outside with the hatch open for quite a while (owner's dog lived in it) but wasn't as ruff :D as it looks!
