I kinda like that in a weird sort of a way - love the seats.
Been thinking about diamond quilted red leather for my MGB

I'd guess a Cooperised '64 850.

The seller reckons it's a solid shell, which I thought an optimistic description, until I saw his other one!

Think you are wrong here. My 64 S's have holes here and this is where the negative cable is fixed to the floor. The clip is 2K 6849 and is found in AKD 3509 page MN 12 :)

Why the shape is wrong?
I can see square cut outs around the holes in the cross member, so I assume the gear lever hole should be original too. This part of the body looks pretty original in my eyes.

so long
the doc

only mk2s had the tiny cut outs in the hole, the mk1 was smooth

I guess this is what toby has spotted!

The fact the hole's there is why I said '64 (plus the sunvisor mount),holes were there on all the Cooper/non Cooper shells as far as I know but by '65 the hole was gone.
Is it a Cooper? Well actually Mk1s did have the cross member flange cut out where the remote bolts go through Rich, I didn't see that when I looked first time round (not sure when that feature started). Also on second glance the plate covering the pudding stirrer hole looks not to be in place but does look to have had one, so.....actually when you add it up it may well be a '63/64 Cooper or S shell as suggested by others, albeit one full of holes!

Yes :) On all remote shells there are "cut outs" for the bolts. And yes, it's a pre wet shell with the right "welded on nuts", later on these had a different shape :)

It's pretty ripe. Looks like even the FE number has gone. Suspect the car is alive and well elsewhere. :o

These are rare, only ever found a grill & a rear boot lid badge for one of these.

This MK II Super was found, when a dealership was opened here in Denmark, after having been locked up for 30 years.
