I think it is, yes, thanks! I hadn't seen this one yet.
I have been collecting film material though. Most of it consists of very short passages of it flying by, but I now also have some bits that are longer. These include two particularly nice ones, one from it in the pit street and one filmed from a helicopter (it is shamelessly being overtaken by all the big guns, very nice though)
The idea is to compile them into one short movie, add some overall atmosphere footage also and make a five-minute movie or so.

I have found an original photos of J.-L. Marnat in case you know the name but no face to put it to.

No, its not you, it wasn't uploaded correctly & is only visible to the OP.

Thank you! Yes, that's the man.
J-L Marnat is of course dead since a long time, but I asked the 'team boss' Hubert Giraud last December what kind of man he was. He had to think about an answer for a couple of seconds and then decided: "He was a very aggressive driver!".

Did you know that Ford did not come up with the GT40 from scratch, they used the Lola Mk6 as a starting point.

As a kid my friends had GT40s and 250LMs for slot cars... I had a Lola Mk 6... (in even the same colour)

Cheers, Ian

I am really happy to be able to say the body shell is now painted and the result is great.

It's been a long time since something happened on the Marcos, but I am very happy to be able to say things are moving now again. Subframes are ready, engine is nearly ready, too, and I have just returned from France to join the shell with these parts. Philippe Quiriere and his dad Gerard of Mini World Center really are doing a fantastic job on the mechanicals. The engine will be a real beauty once it is in and running. I think Rob Waters was one of the drivers, he was also the first owner of my Lotus 7. The Mini Marcos entry is halfway down the page https://www.racingsportscars.com/driver ... rs-GB.html If you can find out more about him, please let me know, my trail has run dry!
