What a great shame. It sounds as if it has suffered quite a bit under that damp cover . Never been a believer in them myself.
Looks as if it was a very original little car doesn't it.
I know it could still be restored, but a BIG job now.

I know 1275 prices have been edging up a bit recently, but surely this would be taking the P? Even if it had a carb.

I mean, that's more than three times the price I just paid for a MG Metro engine. Which was delivered to my door.

I have one of these somewhere, and if I recall correctly as they are not stepped down they sit very high in the door and were difficult to use.sugarhiccup wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 8:34 am Interesting item and description…?

Logbook for BOV 400C on EBay, John Adair built this car in the early 90s before selling it to an Italian chap working in London at the time, then went to Italy. Looking at it it looks like a forgery anyway!

It’s a fake logbook anyway so won’t produce a new one. Hope nobody got stung with it.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
It’s been relisted:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/356249119691 ... media=COPY
We all know selling a V5C on it’s own isn’t legal, I guess the seller is getting around it by selling as memorabilia, Bu115h1t.
The V5 isn’t a fake as far as I can see, that V5 is obviously the older style and therefore expired and not valid in its current form.
So I guess it’s fraud?

Great! Just wait until the Police start using similar systems to deal with reported crimes

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
It’s fake! The font is wrong, the background is wrong and a couple of other errors. The seller has now removed the BOV 400C off the Hpi report (which was clearly left on by mistake) hence the need to relist. John Adair built BOV 400C and sold it to an Italian who took it back to Trieste many years ago.

Still registered as a 998cc petrol car so I'm guessing the DVLA haven't been approached. Buyer beware as they say. He says it's not a toy but it looks like that's all it can be if not road legal. Also, try getting it insured without telling porkies....... what a minefield.

.....and without being boring about it, could the DVLA be right in being cautious ?
All those DC batteries, a old steel shell, maybe extra weight and power, old mini wheels and tyre technology.
I get the excitement and interest in doing it, very CCC, but this isn`t just putting a bigger engine in....
