They probably went to the same school as these clowns:

I'm thousands of miles away from the car, but I can see that it's clearly rubbish. Mini prices are settling and these are worth four figures as restoration projects.

we have an old saw: "Every day there are 5 dimwits arriving at the station". Multiply that by days per year and amount of stations and you have a huge potential buiyership.

For me those type of cars lack credibility or a purpose……ie lightened brackets all over inc bonnet hinges in aluminium, why ? Then you add a sunroof, which presumably adds weight for floor strengthening…….etc no real design direction.

On the plus side looks nicely built and I am sure lots will like it, not a grumpy old fart though ……

this very old fart can see to buy it with a big haggle to get a new built & presumably sorted Heritage Shell complete with the rebuilt engine and box .. then flog off all the Glitz Bits to raise cash ..( no issue if you have the proper spare parts stash) then you have a cheap rust free car to use as a Summer "Daily" when the sun roof will come in handy ;)

The ad also says:-
"Built for a TV show that was never aired, Peter Andre was one of the presenters!"

Does this seem reasonable there seems to be so many "early vans " that have later type bodies and running gear?

It looks alright although the potato camera pics might be hiding a lot.

But Cooper money for a Van?

Really?

12G940 casting.....I have seen these before.......
I even have a similar one here.
My guess was the tuners used the better 12G940 casting and stamped it 316...maybe to satisfy homologation requirements....just a guess!

TBH that's what I wondered, the manifold face is a big give away though if you were a scrutineer....

This head appears to be stamped AEG 163 not 316.AEG 316 is a 1275S EN40B Crankshaft, nitrided but not cross drilled.I hope to post one soon on

Looks nice but advert says oversills fitted 30 years ago!
Same advert on car and classic but it’s a dealer selling it-the eBay advert comes across like it’s a private sale…
Wouldn’t a Cooper have chrome door handles not door pulls on the inside?

Also I think GVU +++D series is an age related number. So is it an import or has it lost its original reg number. ??? Hmmm
