That project 1275 S looks like a 998cc Cooper with a 120 speedo? Otherwise why go to the trouble of removing the front s disks so you can fit reverse rims....?

And remove the forged rockers and replace with pressed. The extra head stud and bolt obliviously fell out. :D :D

The green cooper looks ok on the face of it but from what I can see the repairs on the floor pan definitely leave a lot to be desired. I think I'd want crisper lines than that for my £32K

Converted to dry as well, but does that really matter value wise these days ?

I see it as a plus, maybe I am on my own with that though ?

Hydro fine if you have the proper pump. I don't but did make one out of a bottle jack and a lawnmower fuel tank many years ago. My mk2 is now on dry suspension.

What are those weird 6 vent sills? Are they oversills with holes drilled, above the lowest drain point?!

I reckon that is exactly what they are :o Terrible standard of work at that price isn't it? Just makes you wonder what other corners have been cut.

Those outer sills are really odd looking things. Looks like it's had a dustbin lid glued in place of the spare wheel well and the battery box looks like its been wrapped in Papier Mache before being doused in gravitex
Wonder if it actually sold or if it was just the listing had ended?

Looks like it's one of those that got designated Cooper S back in the day when DVLA were very obliging and just accepted what somebody wrote in the changes section, no questions asked. 40 years on there is obviously a lot of scope for fudging the issue as to whether genuine of not, particularly to the unsuspecting punter.
As said, at least the vendor is being honest and one assumes the previous seller was also. The original VIN number still associated with it being the obvious impediment to passing it off as a factory built original S.
Nicely done car and a lot of money probably put into it. Wonder how much premium it might add if people can convince themselves they are buying into a real Cooper S.

I liked the statement ( The vin number denotes the shell as being a 1965 Super Deluxe and I am told that early 1275 Cooper S models were derived from these).

Frequently bought with ...

Retro Football Shirts!!

The forerunner of the Mini .. the A35 .. lots of similarities except rear wheel drive. My engine contains a lot of Mini parts now and the bodyshell some Metro brake parts!

Perhaps done by the same muppet who rebuilt my Mk2 LWB shell before I got it: First they fitted new floors and sills... then they fitted new oversills on top. Mis-reading the catalog diagram and thinking both were required, I suppose? Guess I should be glad it hasn't got three floors and two bulkheads :-) :-)

The project 1275S looks like it has a post 66 850 shell judging by the vinyl on the top dash rail and the door handles. Its also Tweed Grey whereas the car is Green on the DVLA database ...

Wouldn't a 1966 "S" with door handle safety bosses have had twin tanks as standard?
