This is a case of before you go to look-to-buy, if there's even the slightest of whiff of doubt, you take someone with you who knows what he's looking at.

They were always a bit of an oddball with the understated look and next to zero factory records. I do love their simplicity and ‘sleeper’ style and 70’s colours, with just the rear badge and extra fuel cap the only give away.

That auction one does look right imo, especially in the engine bay and boot, for an older resto.

Do you know what the heritage certificate shows ?

Should show what is was made as…….they dont have a100% accuracy record though.

Think the records are that sparse a Heritage cert can’t be issued. I owned another one a few years back and could only get a letter from the MCR confirming the date built and chassis number.

Back in the news again...
Mini kept in shed for 34 years sells for huge £53K after auction bidding war
New owner will restore it and get it back out on the road:-

Hammer dropped at £20,250 (plus 15% fees). Looked a beauty......
...and a bargain.
No doubt for sale with a dealer at £30k plus very soon.

Best colour too, imo.....
Now on Car and Classic with a dealer in Scotland for £35k. Looks like it ended up at £22,781 with buyers premium. Nice little profit for the dealer. Hope they do the primary gear oil seal leak….

They'll do f*** all in typical dealer fashion. Hate to see this happening but that's how it goes. A couple of hundred to transport it up to Glasgow and the rest is straight profit. Taking the p**s.

Recent " blow over" ?

£5-6 about right considering what might be hidden

Yep, number plate rings a bell too. Could be a fairly quick flip job. More avid auction watchers might recall it?

Lots of clues to suggest that it is a Super.

Chassis plate also gives a clue

What's this plate on the cross member? Dealer plate, Fisher and Ludlow?

The Fisholow plates were rectangular, not oval.
I stand ready to be corrected but I do not believe that Fisher and Ludlow ever put their plates on any minis that they did the paint and trim on ………. or did they?

H&H have a new type of sale coming up entitled Fast Road. Included in the sale are various fast road cars from classics to moderns. Included in this first sale are a trio of Minis.

First is an FIA Appendix K racer, built for the 2009 Goodwood Revival, and not used much since.

Next is a rally prepped with valid MSA passport 1275GT

And finally there is a tidy looking Mk2S. It had a body resto in 1989, and engine rebuild in 2002 and some Newtons interior work in 2015.

The toxic potato nobody wants to keep very long is back once again. Round and round it goes, who’s pants will it pull down next nobody knows! But of course the experts who could stop it will just sit on their hands as usual with the standard statement that “well everybody knows about that” and “it’s a lovely car” which we all know and nobody disputes. Nuff said.

First saw that one hillclimbing at Harewood in about 1995, looked more like a rally car back then, still has some of the dash. Last saw it at Prescott driven very quickly by George Shackleton at the Cooper Car Co doo.
