Why on earth do people make such an utter balls of small details?? I think it is probably a Heritage bootlid which doesn't help but.....honestly
A DVLA VIN number doesn't sound a very promising start does it?

Pete hate of mine. It’s really not that small a detail either is it, absolutely sticks out like flashing neon sign when the badges are THAT wonky, it really takes some doing to get em that pissed. Common thing aswell even today with respected restorers is to have S floating in space on the front badges, a real pig of a job to put right once they’re on!!Old English White wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 3:35 pm Why on earth do people make such an utter balls of small details?? The badge issue isn't helped by the positioning of the badge on original cars. When positioned correctly, it does still look a bit odd.

The slightly iffy grey 1965 S is probably a deal for 20 grand or so. If it's basically a good car and has all the right bits, it's a Mark 1 S for what some clowns are asking for 850's.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
I disagree like many early '59/60 shells that one looks pretty solid with most of the early bodyshell features intact and well worth saving for some kind of early Mini project, shame it was not painted after blasting though. Probably far less work needed on that shell than many of the expensive 'barn finds' on ebay which need every panel replaced to retain originalty....Costafortune wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 9:17 ammab01uk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 11:53 am 1960 Morris Mini Minor Mk1 racecar bodyshell.

I'm just a dinosaur.
My '59 shell cost 30 quid - once bare metalled it needed no welding and it was completely original. That was 1985 however.
That's not worth 3k though. I bet this one only makes 5-6k and it's complete.

Scrap Riley Elf - but with a nice number plate and lots of trim/chrome and oily bits.
Last MOT'd in 1980.
For £350 I'd buy it were it closer.

Me too....just found an old 1974 diary which reminded me my brothers and I paid £25 for a solid Mk1 Cooper S shell in Almond Green to build a Mini 7 racer! One of the first things we did was cut out the rear lights to upgrade to Mk2/3 look before spraying it in the latest BL 'Citron' colour.Costafortune wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 12:18 pm I'm just a dinosaur.

It won't work unfortunatley, the plastic used in the printers is too brittle. It really needs to be injection moulded. I've got one here that I looked at for this purposeiain1967s wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 2:24 am 80 quid !

Does anyone have a 3D printer STL for these?

You could probably do them on a filament printer. There will almost certainly be a reel of that polythene stuff available somewhere.
