yep, one made its way into the gtm!


it fired up last night, first turn of the key.

i had to 'gangsta' the choke open with a tiestrap and undo the engine steady as the dizzy cap fouls on the crossmember, but it sounds great, and drove both backwards and forwards under its own steam for the first time in years.

at least i dont have to push it onto the trailer when i get evicted now!

Well, I’ve finally been evicted from my rented garage.......

With only a couple of days’ notice, no handy trailer and a busy weekend, I was slightly panicked!!!!

Very handily Wil was off work today, had a trailer, and just happened to be coming to minispares north, so an emergency plan was hatched......

thats actually a proper bmc apprentice cutaway engine, its beautiful, its a cable change b series

it was covered in grease and filth when we got it, it took ages to clean

before - looked rubbish



the y piece hung below the rear subframe leg, it looked utter, utter rubbish.

so

I took the manifold off and fitted my dummy 1071 to a spare frame and measured and chopped the down pipes of the lcb down - I shortened them 2" and tweeked them a little so they lined up perfect with the y piece (which is now level with the top face of the cylinder head)

after - looks great (it looks better in real life)



it could have gone higher, but I would have had to chopped the back of the frame up, which I didn't want to do, plus it would have started to get close to the fibreglass body. I just need to make to brackets for the silencer, but that will be once that car gets home

if you now stand behind the car the exhaust is hidden, or at least is the same as the earlier exhausts.

I can only assume that maniflow make this system to suit a GTM that uses the big fat bumper, as that would hide all the exhaust.

Bricks have a multitude of uses. That looks like a common concrete brick to me. Is there a frog in it.?

have been doing a little bit to the gtm.

front is on and fits as well as it can (std gtm tolerances.....), doors fit pretty good

need to make seat frames, fit new front tyres, few little jobs and the mot is near!

just bought one of those csi lucas dissys to go in it, price is near a new aldon with a electronic kit, so I thought id give it a go









extra points for having the top gear india 'wilf' car in the background!


oh, all the suspension needs setting, so ignore the heights and the odd wheel angles!
