If the 4 small pieces of the stainless trim on the A panel is there, the trim alone would fetch more than this (on a good day)

Bought a Min last week with fine growth of fern and assorted leaf mould and moss (+ shorty gearlever)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-UNMO ... 6016.l4276

So this car is advertised as a 60/61 car yet wears 'A' plates denoting a late 63

How does this work :?:

it could be either a car that was imported back into the uk in 1963, or a car that lost its original reg and had a reissued 1963 'a' plate to replace it (which is what the dvla used to do - back in the day - they would stick these on any year of car - my dad has a 1930s car that has a 'a' plate on it!

It's been plate raped.
The original number has been transferred off of the car and as was the DVLA practice at the time it was given an A suffix plate instead of a the correct for it's age Three letter/three number type registration number.

Too slow, Rich beat me to it!

Someone told me the other week DVLA will now swap an old A plate back to a non transferable 3 digit 3 letter plate. Do you know if this is correct?

Interesting.

And there was me thinking they were quite strict about not issuing a newer registration for an older car. How naive :(

Cheers chaps
