Rolex Bob rides again...!
Bob is clearly somewhat frustrated with our discussion.
Two minor points - the wheels on the car when he first advertised it were Rosepetals (not Minilites) and the Morris factory was at Cowley unless I'm much mistaken not Crowley...!

Amazing how quickly bids get to over £30k with each listing……….66Traveller wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 7:00 am Rolex Bob rides again...!

The bidders must be getting frustrated with the listing being cancelled each time, surely ..

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
The last auction wasn't cancelled. It ran the full 10 days and finished at £40,100 on 18/09/21. Who knows the truth as to why it didn't sell but there were a good number of bidders - as there are again this time. It IS a rare car, however genuine it is or isn't. As others have said, it has become a little tarnished after SO many attempts to sell which is a shame really.
As an aside, were ANY Cooper S models built at Cowley?

Funnily enough it came up in my 'everyone deserves a second chance' messages from ebay this morning. I am wondering more generally how some things seem to reach a decent price and then end up being advertised again... and so quickly?
We can all draw our own conclusions of course, but at that price, why didn't it sell???

Probably because he maybe stands to lose quite a bit at £40k.

Bob seems to be getting a bit stroppy in his relisted ad; .. the saga continues yet again and just adds to the cars past History File
Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
He gets loads of free advertising on here, so I guess he has something to smile about.

Also points to there being a pretty limited market for £40k S these days…..and most if the potential buyers being in this forum

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Because he thinks there is some one out there still that will pay over£40k for it - it s not long ago that over £30 k for an S was unusual, then the speculators got involved, now they have left…..AndyPen wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 9:14 am Funnily enough it came up in my 'everyone deserves a second chance' messages from ebay this morning.
