It does look like a nice little Mini to be fair, but he's ruining its reputation (can't think of a better word) by trying to say its a Cooper S recreation

As for the price ... that's taking the piss.

19 grand for a mk3 S “recreation’ -and it’s got a 998 engine!!
The engine seems to be rejecting the fake badging :)
Another example with the door seal kick plates in completely the wrong place.

Thing is, it's still just a Mini City. Where do these people get their ideas from.......... oh wait a minute, from all the other looneys selling tarted up junk on Ebay........ fair enough. So let's see, what exactly makes it a Cooper S "recreation" ?. The stick on fuel filler or the repro' alloys ?.
PS. If the seller is on here I apologise, but you should know you are painting a target on your back with this one, just describe it as a nicely restored Mini City (and drop the price by 10k) and it would be fine. Also these plates are now illegal, thankfully DVLA have seen sense and removed the 40 year rolling deal for being able to stick non reflective plates on modern cars.

Agreed Robin, it is a very nice Mini City NOT a Cooper S recreation in ANY sense of the word.

I thought I read that you could put black plates on any tax exempt vehicle - must have misread it :?

Have to say that they look shite on anything later than 73 anyway.

I was a car mad 15 year old in 1970 and nobody would dream of putting b&w plates on their brand new car .. reflective all the way. They don’t look right to me after F reg.

Andrew the non-reflective plates are only legal on pre January 1st 1975 vehicles so doesn't roll like the historic tax class does. I also agree they look terrible on later cars. In reality most cars '69 onwards would have had reflective plates although it wasn't a legal requirement until '73.

DVLA have now made it any car pre-1980 after their mess up with the 40 year rolling.

That's been advertised before on ebay. Contacted seller telling them that it's a shameful practice from a car dealer and reported to ebay as fraudulent listing.
