It's a 1071, why do you need a rev counter

Rev it until the power drops off and then snatch another gear!

That rad looks a similar size to the one in mine which is from an allegro 1750.

Took a while to fine a rad that would fit (can't be too tall) and with the inlet/outlets in the right place.
The one we used is 1990's Vauxhall Combo Diesel like this:

My son made his own brackets out of alloy strip.

I have a Fiat Siecento one that I hope will work well, The combo one seems to be a popular choice though.

Years ago I used a mini 2 core in the front of my 1380 Davrian, bit expensive now compaired to the Corsa one, know where to look now if needed!

A bit of an update. Progress over the last 3-4 weeks has been good but slow. We've been making a bracket to mount the gear selector and a cage to hold the handbrake lever, and of course cutting the all important bum tweaking holes in the tub. The early tub has a taller tunnel than later cars so the gear selector sits an inch or two down from the top surface. There are also three large access holes on the underside which means I can get in and adjust the handbrake, just. Next jobs on the list are the brake lines, wiring loom and maybe put the engine back in.

hell, I remember the nightmare of the GTM tunnel and getting the 'services' down it

it didn't help that I had already fitted the engine when I tried to get the gear mech in!

I know what you mean, my tunnel is filling up rapidly! I have a Midget handbrake which fits to the side of the tunnel, freeing up a bit of space.
Andy, can I ask you what the gearstick gaiter comes from? It looks good.

I would have preferred to use the Midget/Sprite handbrake, much neater, but couldn't figure out how to attached the two GTM (Morris Minor) cables, do you have any photos.

The gearstick gaiter is for an MGB, good old Ebay.

MGB, great! I have yet to do the rest of the hand brake my self! I have some ideas so hoping to attack that this week if I can, I am using moggy minor cables so have a slightly different approach. I'll post some pics on my thread when I have a solution sorted.

Hi Andy.

Your hand brake was originally fitted on the outside of the drivers seat, on the floor.
But I never saw how it went from the hole in the rear bulkhead, around to the rear brakes.

Not helpful I know but didn't it have a Sprite hand brake lever when you got the car?

Ye the handbrake was never linked up, I spoke to the original owner who said that MOTs were much more lenient back then ;)

I would find it strange if it was a Midget/sprite one as they go on the passenger side of the tunnel, unless there was a special bracket?
This is mine, it has a alloy bracket attached to the lever on the inside the converts it from 1 pull to 2, the moggy cables thread on to that, the only thing I have to work out is turning them up from the tunnel to the top of the frame. I may yet revert to the ones Derek Hambly offers...

The converter bracket sounds interesting, do you have a photo or know where it came from?

Sorry to disappoint but it is a bit of ali angle with 3 holes in it...
I am looking at using these on the ends of the cable as I need to modify it then re swage it.
