That estimate is surely just to draw the punters in.
It’ll exceed the estimate for sure.

i agree
actually, i was speaking to someone just last week who was talking about investing some money into a rear engined classic race car, i wonder if they would be interested in it....
good to see that no matter how good (or bad) a corvair is, they always need front floors fitting to them!

...or you could build a mint S replica for so much less and be just as genuine??!

A handful of Cooper S models are coming up in the H&H Duxford Auction on the 21st
https://online.handh.co.uk/m/view-aucti ... log/id/84/
Late Mk2 S, a usable car with a bit of patina.
https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-detail ... 3Fpage%3D3
'68 Mk2 S. Needs the sills cleaning!
https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-detail ... 3Fpage%3D3
'67 Mk1 Cooper tarck day car. Has FIA cage but not Appendix K power plant
https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-detail ... id%2F84%2F

https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-detail ... 3Fpage%3D2
A couple of other notable offerings include
'68 Moke. It says it has a 1275 engine, but the head looks like a 998 to me going by the thermostat housing.

'73 Vanden Plas 1300, with only 16,000 on the clock.

Some variety there. Isn't the control box in the wrong position on the 1966 "S"?? Perhaps a tell-tale of it's past?

Stuart, amongst the vehicles you list as being for sale at the auction is:
The DVLA details have it on SORN (2015) with an 848cc engine which it would have had when new back in 1967. Quite a few other things under the bonnet do not appear to be of 1967 vintage e.g. master cylinders, alternator.
Putting all that to one side for a moment what I am curious about is the chassis number. The auction website quotes the registration number followed by the chassis number as:
Registration No:MWG423F
Chassis No:M15B008019L
The registration number would appear to be correct for the year and as they state within the description, that is a Stirlingshire number, unless it is an age related issue of course. (Unused Scottish numbers have always been favoured by the DVLA for age related plates.)
They say the chassis number is M15B008019L but this doesn't look like a 1967 Moke number to me. In fact it doesn't look like a chassis number of any type of Mini c. 1967. I'm no expert so perhaps someone on here with more knowledge of Moke chassis numbers has the answer? Maybe it is correct for 1967? Within the number, M makes sense as Morris and B as Buckboard. Does L at the end mean LHD and if it does how does that tie in with it being a UK and therefore RHD Moke?

Graham, if you look at the photos there’s a picture of a painted over chassis plate that begins M-AB1.
The 15B is normally a commission number.

Many thanks, it makes sense now. Although they photographed the painted over chassis number plate they then picked up on the commission number to quote as the chassis number! All in all it seems to be a legit 1967 Make save for it having a few mods done to it over the years.

The FUM740D car looks okay, maybe a few details to be sorted. It may well be a logbook job, who cares? It's never bothered me. These cars all have a story or two.
H&H have used the word 'Beemer' when describing a 635CSi. In any country I ran, that would be tantamount to a death sentence.
