It was a little ripe for restoration to say the least.

I've seen worse done but have also done a much better (to start with) pick up.

Main thing is another pick up has been saved and also done to pretty much standard spec unlike so many other pick ups.

Hi Bri,

Only a local Norfolk show - Skeyton Goat (Name of pub it is hosted at  ) Classic Car show.

The pick up should be well received in this agricultural area of Britain. No doubt I'll get lots of comments like Rich's on the day

Yes, and I recall it was sent to you on loan. When can I have it back ? If it's too much trouble, just send the whole pick-up !!

Back to being serious now, always a pleasure to help someone that does nice work and to see the restoration finished.

Good to see my belt brackets have been put to good use. Hopefully I will get a closer look some time.

Al, I'll just go and get the angle grinder .....

Stuart, the brackets were just the job, although wearing those seat belt things in a Mini are not something I'm used to now

I'll see how it goes, maybe I'll bring it to Blyton next year.

Took the pick up to its first show yesterday, the North Norfolk Railway Transport Festival.

Plenty of interest in it - especially when they looked at the restoration photos :o

Not supprised Andrew having seen it in the flesh myself last week .
I'm sure it's better now than was in 75.
Also still impressed with the door shuts on the new S

Just received a pair of original tan seats that I bought off eBay last week.

Thanks to Bob for acting as go between for the shipping of them :D

The adjustable drivers seat will repair up very well with little remedial work. The fixed passenger seat would go again with a little more work but this is probably a spare as I already have a half decent passenger one.

Also got a very nice and very period 'slip on' boy racer black padded seat cover with it. Doubt I'll use it but far too good to ditch, maybe it's something for Rich to put in the 'er' Cooper S

That is lovely. One request, please don't park next to me at any shows, it will make mine look like a proper ratbag :-)
