It's a good car and it's genuine, loads of paperwork.
Find another with original bill of sale.

Honest description and not trying to hide its humble identity but could it really be worth that much? Thats £20k more than a standard mint 850 is worth on a good day. Appreciate the seller is open to negotiation and not knocking the car in any way.

If it was an S everyone would have been raving about it.

It would be interesting to see what the a similar detail correct car would do without any provenance

Provenance is similar to selling a business with goodwill

It doesnt enhance the actual item being sold i.e. it doesnt make it any better than a detail perfect car that has been a barn find with no real history.

But i suppose people love to be able to prove it is a genuine article

I think the real point is that early GTs are rare and the pendulum of fashion has swung back in their favour...

These were £10k cars not that long ago. When we bought our Mk1 in 2012 I looked at a similar '71 GT that was totally mint at that price.
