It’s got a SPQR gearchange on it, just be seen at the bottom of the gear lever is the lever mounting boss .

I do like it the way it is, it's an old one so it has it's foulds.

I totally agree, you used to see loads of Minis with “period mods”, often homemade, that gave them character and history.
The better than “Factory Fresh” look, driven by Parnell etc....seems to be the only way now, sadly, in my view.

It is a bit of a time-wrp isn't it! Exactly what we all did with our old Minis in the late 1960s/early 1970s and seldom seen now.

Recessed screen would be correct for a December 1960 car. They started production of that type in October that year.

Nice selection of Marchal Spots on the front. That would be the talk of the town at any show you took it to and would gather a crowd bigger than any shiny restoration.

I'd paint the bonnet the right colour, give it a good clean and leave it exactly as it is.

What a lovely thing to own. I bet that makes 10 grand+
