Is that the going rate for tidy MK3 Minis or does the South African connection help drive up the price. To be honest I haven't paid much attention to Mini prices these days as I am not allowed to buy any more as the garage and extension onto the garage is full :D

I'd say it's probably not a bad price, other Mk3s have come up for more than that. Would need to see it in the flesh obviously but it looks like a good genuine one from the pics.

Started life as an 850 (could have been a 998), going by the speedo, and still has the original gearbox looking at the wand lever. SA 1000s had the wand box as well as the 850. Engine blocks looks to be a 1275 as it has the block mounted oil filter. I bet that cost no more than £2000-£3000 in South Africa.

I'd rather have a stock low mileage/owner UK car for that price.

South African Mk1 1000. Looks tidy and nice colour combo

Tidy Mk4 in Snapdragon with stripy seats and a 1275 engine. I think a better bet than that SA Mk3

Is that 9grands worth? You'd want to have a good look over it first I reckon. To me, although it is tidy, that's just an old Mini which has had a quick blow over in the wrong colour....

Agreed Richard , that would need some careful probing. The boot floor near the battery box and rear subframe
mount looks suspect to start with.

When did rear seat belt anchorages come in ? Can’t remember them on the 79 I had once :?

Attractive looking car on the face of it though but not 9k

I've become less and less bothered about originality and perceived future value these days, I look at most Minis for sale and see them as blank canvases, well up to a point anyway, I wouldn't bother with a 'genuine Mk1 S' that's clearly a Rover Cooper with a logbook nailed on but most '60s and '70s Minis have been modified or faffed about with at some point.

Each to their own obviously ;)

(That '67 S/African Mk1 down in Devon is nice though, that's the second time it's been on c&c...)
