Its a bit more of a blue-grey in real life but I'm happy with the results so far.

Ooh, shiny! I was toying with doing mine in grey but went with Satin black and grey subframes. You are making me question my decision now, looks cracking! Now the tricky bit, trying not to scratch it...

Its a bit of a copy of the CCC Cox which is grey on the inside, makes it look a bit more 'racy'.

I've still loads of holes to drill here and there so the chance of scratching it are very very high And the big flat areas in the engine bay are perfect for resting tools.

I get what you mean a bit like a racing lotus, apparently they painted it grey to show up any cracks, a common feature of spaceframe Loti...
I am probably going to paint the rear space frame grey on mine as well as I like the racy look too

Well after a few very productive evenings and a bit of sun last night I thought I'd take some more snaps...
...the petrol tanks is a later steel GTM one which might be replaced at a later date with an alloy one. The next major jobs are sorting the gear linkage and handbrake...







A few close-ups, this shots shows the 'interesting' support the original owner/builder made to support the pedal box, I just had to keep it for posterity...



The next one shows the adjustments I've had to make to the clutch cover to clear the body, I'll tidy them up when I take the engine out again to sort the handbrake, you can also see the clearance on the clutch arm which is going to need sorting.



And this shows the space down the bulkhead before fitting the dynamo/dizzy/starter and a shed load of pipes and cables...



Two problems I'm mulling over in the back of my mind are that with the steering wheel fitted I can't see the rev counter. The whole cars could do to sit a bit lower too but the hi-lows are on there max so not sure how I'm gunna do that, the car being so lightweight doesn't help.

Looking good out in the light! I don't know if you every saw the silver one that a Hungarian chap rebuilt but he put the Rev counter on a sort of tubular extention out of the dash to raise it up, might be worth looking at.

It's a 1071, why do you need a rev counter

Rev it until the power drops off and then snatch another gear!

Oow very flash, I like the look of that rad too.

That rad looks a similar size to the one in mine which is from an allegro 1750.

Took a while to fine a rad that would fit (can't be too tall) and with the inlet/outlets in the right place.
The one we used is 1990's Vauxhall Combo Diesel like this:

My son made his own brackets out of alloy strip.

I have a Fiat Siecento one that I hope will work well, The combo one seems to be a popular choice though.

Years ago I used a mini 2 core in the front of my 1380 Davrian, bit expensive now compaired to the Corsa one, know where to look now if needed!

A bit of an update. Progress over the last 3-4 weeks has been good but slow. We've been making a bracket to mount the gear selector and a cage to hold the handbrake lever, and of course cutting the all important bum tweaking holes in the tub. The early tub has a taller tunnel than later cars so the gear selector sits an inch or two down from the top surface. There are also three large access holes on the underside which means I can get in and adjust the handbrake, just. Next jobs on the list are the brake lines, wiring loom and maybe put the engine back in.

hell, I remember the nightmare of the GTM tunnel and getting the 'services' down it

it didn't help that I had already fitted the engine when I tried to get the gear mech in!
