I love the fact that someone's tried to blow the tyres up and then realised it's not going anywhere and given up, leaving the compressor attached!

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Think it's a genuine speedo . But technically it's a 130mph . Weren't these 120 + speedos for a late mk1 cooper s . I have a late mk1 s registered on a (G ) plate suffix with a 120 + speedo also a 1522 box . The seller has a good reputation for some rare quality parts so I wouldn't have thought the speedo is a sticker jobby . Lets hope not at that money

Such a shame the seller buggered that up but he's a lovely fella and sadly is very unwell.
In fact if anyone wants to buy a 1960 Clipper Blue Mini that's been restored (it's not a concourse car !) I'd like to help him so please let me know and I'll give you the lowdown on this car. The guy's thrown alot of his money at it and though it's not been done to a professional standard it does represent a decent tidy example of the marque that can be improved. Ideally it needs a re paint and at the time I saw it needed trim, not cheap jobs I know but I'm sure the price could reflect that. The panels have all been done and it's very decent and painted underneath, new floors, not patched, restored subbies etc, underbonnet is very presentable indeed as is the boot compartment.

Swifty, I believe you are correct, it is a genuine speedo but not a 'proper' (for want of a better description) 120mph speedo as fitted to 970's and 1071's so I don't think it should be described as such, its a little misleading to people who are unaware there is a difference.

Bit harsh there Pete, there's a very clear photo of the speedo and the seller's got a good reputation.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Pete, being harsh was not my intention and I apologise if I offended anyone, the speedo he was selling was the one bottom left which is graduated to 130mph although only marked to 120, the one top right is the proper 120mph speedo, graduated and marked to 120mph but that was was not for sale. Like I said there is a very distinct difference between the two and which cars they were fitted to.
