Great pics, great day! Only a spectator (this time) but loved the relaxed, informal atmosphere...full access to the paddock, banter with the competitors, some fantastic cars caning it up the hill.....perfect!

I was on a couple of feet away you came a cropper. I could hear you approaching the bend and got ready, then I heard the squeal of tyres. The first thing I saw was a white roof going for the bank, which the lifted up a few feet as it hit the bank. I thought you were going over, but luckily you just went back down, fired the car back up and crawled across the line.

It's good to see the damage isn't to bad.

PS Thanks all for the positive comments.

After the spin I checked the damper settings on the Koni adjustables and realised that my near side front one was set on "0" and my off side was on 3 clicks. It looks like the the little plastic knob that spins the clicks is worn and wasn't actually turning the adjuster screw but just spinning around.
One to watch in future.
I also think that the car ride height was too low and spending time on its bump stops. The car also needed loads of revs to keep on cam and every corner just killed any speed that I might have gained.

Quite poky on a track the 970 when you can keep the needle dancing up at 8000 rpm, but it's not cut out for a hill climb. Never mind...

I have a plan.. :D

For what its worth, I have finally managed to work out how to upload stuff to youtube & have added a few of our runs. This was my best, note the extensive use of the gearlever :)

Even though i've only done Harewood a handful of times, i've found a pic of me in 1987, pretty much exactly 30 years ago, it was a one off Hillclimb for the car, it was basically built as a road rally car, but used in the main for single venue stage events in the late 80s, the car was 10 years old at this point, where as "KEC" is 57 years old.

Pic's taken coming out of Orchard
