Big day today, after a few issues with the petrol tank, carb, timing and all those little jobs that seem to take longer than you think its finally ready for the MOT.

Looking very nervous this morning...

Looking absolutely SUPERB Andy!

Well done, it's been a very long road, but well worth the travelling. I can't wait to see the completed car very soon.

will it be re registered with a 1960s reg number, or will it stay on the 'X' but be tax free????

I think the shiny paint will just dazzle the mot tester!

Rich, Foster from the Inno Cooper register is doing me a letter to send to the DVLA to confirm production date, hopefully they'll issue me with an age related plate and make it tax exempt. Until then its on the the 'X' plates and payed for tax. I really want to get the plate sorted for the track day but I think it will be pushing it.

Will hopefully be up to see you and Mark before May.

My MK3 Inno's on a "Y" plate and tax free. Y plate ties in with the cars history so keeping it.

Well the rolling road went ok, just a quick setup so I can run it in without doing too much damage. Other than a few trips too and from work I haven't had much chance to put many miles on the car, a dose of grit/salt on the roads hasn't helped. This weekend I managed a full day out so went for a trip up to see Rich at Mini Spares and then out for a quick 'blast' with Mark and Adam it their wonderful 850...

...I thought I could get away with running the bog standard carb/inlet/exhaust system but the car really needs more omph to keep up with traffic (and Marks 850 :) ) so once its run in I'm gunna fit a RC40 and twin carbs, not sure yet if I'll go for twin inch and a quarter SUs or a pair of FZDs. Will have the car run in, parts fitted and setup for Blyton all being well.

and that's the whole joke at the pub

it drives the bar staff round the bend as they see us screech into the carpark through the window, and the park exactly inline with the boat! (you cant really see that, but marks parked next to it)

Andy,

It was great to see you on Saturday & take the 850 out for an airing, even if we did spend an inordinately long time trying to find somewhere to eat!

I was absolutely knocked out by your new Inno, I just find it hard to believe that its 10 years since I first saw it in it's original state. Its a testament to your eye for detail, something I have always lacked. All my cars look great from about 10 yards, but let themselves down on closer inspection, yours on the other hand. . . . . would look superb under a microscope.

Really looking forward to Blyton now.

Thanks Mark, there are still a million and one little bits to finish off, but they are nothing compared to the work put in by Rich on the gearbox, Paul Fish on the welding/engine, Whight brothers paint, my bit was the easy bit :)
