You must be loosing your memory and eye sight, when I first showed the set up to you I explained to you that it only had about 30mm clearance to the bonnet and I have stated on this forum that it only had about 30mm clearance.
Having sold 16 of these now no one seems to be concerned about air cleaners but you, even the guy in South Africa doesn't seem to be concerned as he is running two ram tubes about 8ins long out of the bonnet, but this is good because he will not suck any rubbish or wild life from under the bonnet , then again if he sucks an elephant down the ran tubes it is easier to stand on the bonnet and lift the elephant of them, but it,s going to be a helava job to get him out from under the bonnet specially if his trunk got sucked into the cylinder
The motor in my LS has ben in there since 1993 and never run an air cleaner but I don't go driving on dirt roads, but it has been run in regularity events at race meetings and has done track days and still going strong after 60000 ks, may be if the air is that dirty we should all be wearing air filters on our face

Hi,

we do hill climb in france about eight times or more during a year. Once, when opening the engine after the season without using an airfilter, we have been urged to rebore the engine and to buy new pistons. OK, it's an eight port and very special trumpets are sitting in front with about three centimeters distance to the closed bonnet. there was much less power with standard trumpets.

His comments are typical by dragging in elephants and I'm sure if he could, giraffes too. Has he ever been to South Africa? If I was from there, I'd find those remarks and the general tone of them somewhat derogatory, then again, we have come to expect little else from that loud, fouled mouthed moron. "Don't Answer truthfully when you can take a swipe at someone" seems to be his motto.

Thankfully more and more people are starting to see right through this bloke and the flim-flam that he is.

Wonder who's Minis were fastest at the recent Phillip Island event???? (For the record, I don't actually know ... but there is Utube video of one such engine topping 200 kph - don't know about the other....

No real knowledge of the characters involved in this "chat" but I'm currently using an RE 13 ot ( purchased from Calver) and can say that it performs very well in my 1380, better for my road use than either a 276 or 286 that I tried previously.
