I'm not agree with black colour on minis, I think it hides its curves. I would prefer a pastel colour, somewhere between grey and blue, with contrasting roof.

It's definitely a Weslake. You can see the four core plugs in front where the ports would be on an Arden.chris-pilling wrote:is it a weslake? looking at the picture again i cant properly tell if its upswept manifold on a arden?

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
Etienne, did you have a good night?!
No it's not a Lucas, it's a Tecalemit, but as far as I know they have some problems setting up the injection system.
If anybody has some information on how to tune that and would like to share them, that would be great. I would like to forward them to Juergen who did the rebuild of that car/engine.

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
Very interesting view of the engine management, especially pulse pump.
The engine doesn't suffered from overheating ? (fan blade..)

The setup above is "TJ" Tacalemit Jackson, lots of details on the main MK1 site.

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
assuming fuel pumps are in good running order switch pumps on see how much fuel is going into inake manifold pulling throttle bodies open not by the metering unit adjust pressure regulator to get a drip of fuel every second nip up locnut on regulator set pressure relief valve at around at about 15 pounds set metering cable so min of play be careful not to flood engine hope this helps regards graham

I wouldn't have used unvented 'oversills' though , they just fill up with water and rot out. Amazing how many do still use them

But it's a race car, so I would like to fix the roll cage to the floor and the bottom box for the rigidity.

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
Fair comment.
By the way talking of sills the worst case I saw of premature rot was on a really nice car that had been sandblasted and the sill sections were left filled to the top with (wet) grit. The new sills took less than three years to rot through.

No problemo, just drill a 8 mm hole, in bottom of each of the squares.mehariman1 wrote:I totally agree whith you. An other people say me the same.Surf 1275 wrote:I wouldn't have used unvented 'oversills' though , they just fill up with water and rot out. Amazing how many do still use them

then water can get out, and more important, you can spray some thin penetrating rust preventing oil inthere and use one of these long "thingies" with a "shower" effect
